They don't answer their phones, they don't return calls, and they don't respond to email. My three star rating is not because of the product, but because the company's customer service is basically non-existent. The AeroGarden works well and I am happy with my plants. It is, as another review commented, a bit noisy. If you have a problem with the product, forget about getting any support.
I would recommend this product, especially for those unable to garden outside. I purchased the tomato seed kit separately, and think that they should have included the kit with the basic AeroGarden package. He is very happy with his garden and is waiting for his first harvest from it. This was the perfect gift for him. I purchased this AeroGarden as a gift for my father at Christmas. He was an avid gardener until his stroke put limits on his mobility. So far, he has had no problems with noise or failure.
The others grew quickly and well and I was harvesting and eating fresh herbs less than four weeks after setting it up -- best Christmas present I got this year.I wish, however, you could buy individual seed pod packs, instead of the full seven at once. I am very pleased with my AeroGarden Classic 7-pod AeroGarden Classic 7-Pod with Gourmet Herb Seed Kit, Silver, even though one pod (Chives) did not germinate. I would have put something else in the chives spot when it hadn't germinated after two weeks.
A little pruning goes a long way. I could have bought quite a few bunches of herbs with the money I spent, but it's great having fresh herbs whenever I want them. I used a wooden skewer to stake my parsley. No problems with the device itself.lights go on & off as they should, nutrient & water indicator reminds me when it's time to care for my plants. Overall, I'm satisfied.
Overall I am happy. The chives, thyme and mint are disappointing, but I use less of those herbs anyways. Make sure you pinch the basil plants to encourage growth and keep the plants from becoming spindly. It will take awhile to recoup the cost of the Aero Garden. I've been using my Aero Garden for several months now.
I have had a bumper crop of both kinds of basil, parsley, and dill. I believe it was shading my mint so may have been the reason the mint hasn't done well.
The AeroGarden was purchased as a gift for my son's birthday. It works great and he loves it.
